DIS Group of Companies started its origins producing brass mascots for ships at its Brass Foundry in the port area at the turn of the twentieth century. The founder, Joseph A. Farrugia, diversified the operation into a steel fabrication and manufacturing company, renaming it Dolphin Forge in 1963. His son and present Chairman of the Company, Louis Farrugia, together with his son Daniel and daughter Eve, transformed the company into an industry leader producing a large variety of quality products and services for domestic and industrial requirements.
Due to rapid expansion, the management felt the importance of integrating the various trade production services into different companies. Consequently, the DIS Group of Companies was born. Since its inception, the Group has taken the quality of its products and services to high professional standards, particularly with regards to metal and steel fabrication, wood craftsmanship, aluminium production and glass manufacturing. DIS also offers blasting, galvanising, spray-painting, special protective coatings and surface preparations. Besides working on major projects, DIS also caters for a wide range of individual and custom-made household assignments, complying with high environment and quality design standards.
Today, DIS Group have an integrated network of sales and deliveries throughout Malta and Gozo, as well as overseas, particularly Libya and North Africa. DIS Group encompasses different companies and facilities with separate financial departments under same umbrella, guaranteeing full integration amongst its companies and combining efficient production processes with just-in-time delivery systems.
The company has resolved to undertake further expansion ventures with the aim of becoming quality leaders in the local market. For this purpose the company has committed itself to invest substantially in all fields of the manufacturing processes, with particular emphasis being put upon the quality and presentation of the product. DIS Group will soon be launching the official grand opening of its brand new showroom and factory premises at Corradino Industrial Estate, at the same time marketing the various integrated trades.
